Who am I?

I’m Miss B and I created Learning with Joy as a space to share resources, activities, and ideas for families looking to support their child’s learning in reading and beyond. I have experience in arts education, lower elementary classroom teaching with an MA in teaching, and I am thrilled to have become a mom myself 3 years ago. Throughout my experiences as an educator, I have had the privilege of partnering with families to help support students' learning and growth. In fact, it’s always been one of my most favorite aspects of teaching. It’s also the part that can be stretched for time and resources. My hope for the Learning with Joy Blog is to provide a place for families to find resources and ideas for supporting their child’s learning at home.

Why Learning with Joy?

I believe that learning should be fun, engaging, and meaningful. I believe that approaching learning with joy is the best way to cultivate lifelong learners, bond with our kids, and improve wellness. I also know it’s easy to feel busy, tired, and stretched thin between school, activities, commitments, and more. I believe the home is an incredible place for a child to feel safe, encouraged, and supported in their growth and goals. I hope to provide families with ideas for ways to connect with their child's education that is fun, engaging, and doable on a consistent basis. Let’s learn together!

What age?

Content will be focused on early literacy and education. The majority of the content would be best fit for ages 2-8. However, there maybe be ideas and tools that could be helpful beyond these parameters. The goal is to create posts and resources that can be universally helpful and may be adjusted for age, skill level, and learning focus. The information should be used to work best for you and your family.
