Water Play

Now I love a good water table as much as any parent. But you can also use everyday items that you already have to create a simple learning experience. One of my favorites is simply a little water in a tupperware and some measuring utensils.

Have your little one transfer the water from one cup to the next using a measuring cup or a tablespoon.

This is great for hand-eye coordination, motor skills, and problem-solving. I typically start with the larger scoops like a measuring cup and then move to tablespoons and teaspoons.

Tip: Put a towel down if indoors.

You can switch out the water for chia seed or oat flour to add new textures to explore.

(Chia seeds with water create a bit of goop/slime. It’s great to explore and learn. Just a heads up that it can be a bit difficult to clean up. I suggest flat, smooth surfaces like hardwood, tile, or a table, rather than a towel, as it sticks to clothes/fabrics)
